GUSTAVO NAVEIRA & GISELLE ANNE
Since the late 80's, Gustavo Naveira has become one of the world's major references and renovators of tango teaching and tango style. Gustavo Naveira trained many of today's great dancers and directed over many years, in his place of birth, Buenos Aires, numerous notable projects for the younger generation of tango, such as the famous práctica 'Cochabamba 444'.
Around the same time, after graduating from the National School of Dance, GISELLE ANNE joined the legendary show "Tango Argentino", which strongly contributed towards the "resurrection" of tango worldwide.
Gustavo and Giselle have been working together since 1995, our Sitges Festival having brought them together as an artistic couple (and later on partners in life). Since then, Gustavo and Giselle have worked incessantly, particularly appreciated are their seminars and workshops, during which they share all their knowledge and special teaching methodology. In recent years they have also created the show "Tango Generations" where, in the company of the younger generations of the Naveira family, they review the history of tango via an innovative multimedia show that has been featured on various continents.
We are particularly pleased to welcome back this couple, after several years of absence, to celebrate with us in this edition, our symbolic 20th Anniversary. It is also worth mentioning that this will be their sixth appearance in Sitges, and that Giselle Anne, even before working with Gustavo in the second edition (1995), was present in the first edition (1994). For these reasons, Gustavo and Giselle receive a special tribute from us.
